The UK Secretary of State for Health and Social Care sent a letter to all suppliers of medical devices outlining the contingency planning in case of a ”no-deal scenario”, i.e. no agreement concluded between the UK and the EU by March 2019.
While the scenario is described as unlikely, the UK Secretary of State calls at all medical suppliers:
-
to increase stock levels at a national level;
-
share contingency plans with the UK government;
Finally, the letter reiterates the previously published technical notice when it comes to the continuous recognition of CE marked medical devices in the UK.
